A family in Pawhuska is devastated after wildfires destroyed their 100-year-old home.

Ronald Stuart and his brother Douglas spent the day combing through what was left of their childhood home.

"We lived here many, many, many years, so there's a lot of memories of Christmas, holidays, and stuff like that here," said Ronald.

Ronald was proud to live here and everything inside was state-of-the-art back in the day.

"This was one of the nicest houses in Pawhuska, one of the nicest,” said Ronald. “It had a wine cellar, it had an ice box, literally ice box, I crawled through the ice box when I was young."

Douglas Stuart said he will always feel connected to this place.

"I did a lot of things up here like all children do in all homes, and they should all have memories of their homes when they're growing up,” said Douglas. “Relationships are important, they should have memories of their neighbors."

The brothers said as time passes, it's sad to see all the places they used to go, like the house, gone too.

"And it's a shame to see all of that happen, time changes,” said Ronald.

No one has lived in the home since 1994.

Even though the house is gone, Douglas said nothing can take away the time he spent with his family and friends, and how it made him feel.

"I'm a little bit sad that the structure I was tied to is not here, but life moves on, I moved away," said Douglas. "Your memories are your relationships, being kind to each other. And this was just a structure."
