Some of golf’s biggest stars will tee off for Round 1 of the LIV Golf tournament in Broken Arrow on Friday.

The gate at Cedar Ridge Country Club opens to fans at 9:30 a.m. as well as the Fan Village. It has food, music and interactive activities like the Impossible Putt Challenge.

The tournament will take place over three days. 48 players including stars like Brooks Koepka, Phil Mickelson, and Oklahoma’s own, and back-to-back LIV Golf tournament champion, Talor Gooch will take the green.

The LIV Golf League plays by the same rules as other professional golf tournaments, but the biggest difference is it is a team competition. You will also notice a change in the way the tournament begins. Instead of a traditional tee time, LIV Golf does a shotgun start. This means all 48 players will start at a different hole and tee off at the same time.

Leading up to that, an aerial parachute team will land at the first fairway at noon, followed by a hype video, countdown with a live DJ, and the shotgun start is set for 12:15 p.m.

“On the first tee we are going to have Talor Gooch, Dustin Johnson, and Sergio Garcia,” Slugger White, VP of Rules & Competition for LIV Golf said. "Obviously Talor has been on a roll, it is his hometown which is nice he is on the first tee and right behind them on the second tee is Brooks Koepka, Martin Kaymer, and Phil Mickelson."

White said he was with the PGA for 40 years and was uncertain about the shotgun start at first, but now he loves it. He said it makes for a better fan experience.

"We are out here for five hours as opposed to almost all day," White added, "Fans can go camp out and wait for their favorite player to get there and enjoy the time that the other players come through. So, it is unique, it really is."

After play, country music star Lainey Wilson will perform on the Main Stage. Grounds passes will get fans access to that, the course, and the Fan Village.

Free parking is available at Oral Roberts University with a shuttle taking fans to and from the course.
