Oklahoma Law Enforcement Agencies Participate In Special Olympics Torch Run

Members of the Tulsa Police Department started a run on Wednesday morning to help carry the ceremonial Special Olympics torch all the way to Stillwater.

The event is held yearly ahead of the games, with law enforcement from across the state participating.

The run started on Tuesday in Oklahoma City and picked back up at 6 a.m. in Tulsa. Officers will pass the torch off department by department until it gets to Stillwater.

TPD officers ran to 81st West Avenue where they passed the torch to Sand Springs Police.

The Special Olympics opening ceremonies begin on Wednesday night and the competition continues through Friday.
