Tulsa Police say there is a threat to the public after a deadly shooting on Wednesday because the suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Police say a search is underway after one person was killed and three others were injured in a shooting that happened in a Tulsa neighborhood on Wednesday night.

Officers say the deadly shooting happened near South Louisville Avenue and East 27th Place in Tulsa around 8 p.m.

Investigators say they want people to know that the shooting was not random, but because the suspect is armed, they want the public to be on high alert.

"He clearly had a specific target or group of targets here but he's still armed and dangerous. So whether he has other targets, whether he will do something irrational if backed into a corner we don't know that right now. So all we are asking is to have a heightened sense of awareness as you should," said Capt. Richard Meulenberg from the Tulsa Police Department (TPD).

Police say they searched a home for the shooter but didn't find anyone inside.

According to officers, the shooter is believed to be a man in his 20s, but officers say they can't give a better description because TPD's Homicide Unit and Fugitive Warrants Unit are actively searching for someone.

Investigators ask anyone with information on the deadly shooting to call CrimeStoppers at (918)-596-COPS.
