The University of Tulsa men's basketball team opened the 2023-24 season with a 70-53 win over Central Arkansas Monday night at the Reynolds Center.
Nine players scored in the game, including four in double-figures. Cobe Williams led the way for the Golden Hurricane with 13 points. Redshirt freshman P.J. Haggerty had 12, while Isaiah Barnes and Tyshawn Archie added 12. Nine players scored in the game, including four in double-figures.
Haggerty also had team-highs of five assists and four steals, while Jared Garcia pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
Tulsa shot just 40 percent from the field and 28 percent from three-point range, and the Hurricane defense held the Bears to just 33 percent shooting and 30 percent from behind the arc.
The Golden Hurricane will host Incarnate Word on Saturday at 2 pm.
