A 17-year-old is in custody accused of shooting at a Tulsa Police officer early Wednesday morning.
Police said the suspect, Rivelino Castro, opened fire on an officer who responded to a shots fired call just after midnight in the area of 12300 E. 27th Place.
The Tulsa Police Department said the officer was speaking with neighbors and investigating the shooting call when he walked back to his vehicle and was fired at. At the time, police said the officer could not tell where the shots were coming from.
Police said the officer was not injured, but his vehicle sustained damage.
Detectives conducted an investigation at the scene after the officer called for backup and as they were preparing to serve a warrant on the suspect location, three people left the home.
Officers then stopped the car and arrested Castro. His mother and sister were also in the vehicle but released.
Authorities recovered weapons and casings from the home after serving the warrant.
Tulsa Police said this is an ongoing investigation.
