The Cowboys have begun to add talent from the transfer portal, first with safety Kobe Hylton from UTEP then Isaia Glass, an offensive lineman from Arizona State.
The six-foot-five, 300-pound looks to block for Doak Walker award winner Ollie Gordon next fall.
Gordon racked up the accolades this postseason and he credits linemen up front, but his teammates still give him the credit he deserves.
"It's just been special obviously to be around great players," said quarterback Alan Bowman. "I'm I've been fortunate to be around a lot of great guys in my college career and obviously he's at the top of the list with that."
Head Coach Mike Gundy talked about what winning the Doak Walker Award means for the entire offense.
"I'm proud for our organization and Ollie and obviously the offensive guys that helped him get to that point. Not very many guys are Doak Walker winners," Gundy said.
The winner himself said he didn't expect to get the recognition.
"I really didn't know, I didn't put two and two together until I went home that night," Gordon said.
The 2023 Doak Walker Award recipient looks to lead the Cowboys against Texas A&M on Wednesday, Dec. 27th.
