Using your local library is one of the best ways to stick to your New Year's reading goals.

Leaders at the library say making routine trips to the library and growing a love of books go hand in hand.

The Director of Customer Experience at the central library, Ellen Cummings, says people can visit their local library for cultural story times, crafts and as always to find books they can’t put down.

Cummings said there are several programs at the library to encourage reading. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library promotes the love of reading in younger children, which allows families a chance to pick out books to create their own library at home.

You can also set reading goals and use the library catalog to keep track of your reading.

“We always say to every reader, we have something for everyone here. That's the beauty of the library. So, you can check out these items we don't make you read them you can bring them back,” Cummings said.

You can pick up a library event guide which has something for every age at several places across the city.
