Rows of guitars fill Guitar House of Tulsa, but there are some empty spaces where guitars should be.

“Guitars have value. Maybe they want to start a band,” laughed store owner Drew Winn.

Winn jokes but he's not happy.

“Received a call from the alarm company that they were dispatching officers because the alarm was going off,” he said.

He says two people broke into the store around 10:50 Saturday night and stole 15 guitars. By the time Winn arrived, it was too late.

“I was hoping that the guys were maybe still in the vicinity so we could have a chat and I could get my stuff back,” he said.

He says in the 20 years he’s sold guitars, he never thought something like this would happen.

“It’s disheartening. You try to make something nice, and then someone comes in...it's like, ‘Why are we doing this?’” he said.

But Winn says he’s seen huge support from the community.

“Of course, it’s a crappy thing to have happened, but everybody really cares,” he said.

He says a lot of work goes into acquiring the guitars, and at the end of the day, he just wants his property back.

“To recover the guitars and to sell them to people who actually want to play them and not steal them and sell them,” said Winn.

A full list of the stolen guitars with the make, model, and serial numbers can be found on Guitar House of Tulsa’s Facebook and Instagram.
