An Oklahoma couple's story is getting nationwide attention as part of a new series streaming on Roku.
Retrospec Films is a video and film production company in Broken Arrow. The owner, Jason Burks, said its goal is to collaborate with the best in the industry while creating creative and meaningful work.
Burks said his company has 25 years of experience working on TV commercials, docu-series, and advertising for corporate clients.
Burks said during the pandemic, he wanted to produce more entertainment.
He and his wife, who were newlyweds at the time, decided to create a docu-series called "Love on the Rocks," chronicling their first year of marriage.
Burks and his wife put their marriage to the test on a 12,000-mile trip across the United States to climb three of America's most prominent peaks.
The series was picked up and launched on Outside TV last year and, due to its success, was then picked up by Roku this month.
“For me, I think there’s a responsibility that I take to tell stories that are going to make the community better. And I think that’s really important. I think that something that I guess if there was any nugget of advice or something I try to live by, is that I want to tell stories that are worthwhile, that are going to encourage people," Burks said.
This series has allowed them to be licensed in different countries. Burks said they look forward to producing more entertainment projects.
