People who want to become an entrepreneur in Tulsa are getting a chance to put their skills to the test.

Several organizations are partnering to support future entrepreneurs through this initiative and they are looking for people to apply.

You don’t need any business experience to join the Tulsa Idea Challenge.

Those who are selected will work for two days, May 4 and 5, with a partner to problem solve and create an idea for a business.

They will also get the chance to win a spot in a cohort and get funding to test and launch that idea.

Builders and Backers, Tulsa Remote, and 36 Degrees North have teamed up for this program.

Organizers said the challenge helps push the goals of future entrepreneurs forward.

"We've had folks that have started their small businesses. A lot of folks we sent out a survey recently to see how folks have progressed, and 80 percent or more say they are still using the framework today. And that's even the folks who have not taken out business loans, don't have a brick-and-mortar already, but have already started," Jonathan Frank with Tulsa Remote said.

The Tulsa Idea Challenge launches the first weekend in May. April 10 is the deadline to apply.

All participants will at least get $300 for completing the workshop. CLICK HERE for more information.
