People go to great lengths to surprise their significant other on Valentine's Day.
And the people in charge of making those surprises happen were hard at work on Wednesday.
The Drillers mascot, Hornsby, made 80 deliveries.
Roses and chocolate would be enough, but some wanted to take their display of affection up a notch by sending the Drillers' mascot, Hornsby, and his entourage to deliver the treats.
"It's important to know because in today's society, we can't have too much love,” said Taylor Levacy, the Director of Community Relations for the Drillers and Hornsby’s chauffeur. “We just need to bring in kindness, and everyone loves Hornsby. It's a unique experience in having this guy, the adorable blue bull, walk into your office or school or home and lighting your day up."
Meghan Stapleton's day was lit up in the middle of a meeting.
"I thought something tragic was going to happen whenever I got pulled out of a meeting, and little did I know,” Stapleton said. “I was silly stringed to death and then presented with a rose. "
After a job well done, the crew gets the next order of chocolates, roses and Drillers tickets ready before heading to the next delivery.
Russ Gray wanted to see his wife surprised by Hornby and tagged along.
He said she had no idea and wasn’t sure how she would react.
"Shock, maybe a little bit of anger,” said Russ. “Who knows, I could be sleeping on the couch for the next couple of days."
His prediction was right.
"Russ is in trouble later,” Sasha laughed after being surprised.
