A woman from Sand Springs, Mary Lea Forsythe, is celebrating a big milestone.

February 29 was her 25th birthday.

Forsythe may not look like your typical mid-twenties girl.

That's because her birthday only comes around every four years, on Leap Year.

Forsythe is 100 years old and is one of the five million people celebrating a birthday on Thursday. To put it in perspective, that's less than one percent of the world's population.

Members of her family traveled from all over the country because they don't get many chances to celebrate on the actual day.

She was showered in hugs, cards with well wishes, and lots of photos to commemorate the day.

Forsythe is in disbelief that her 25th birthday is already here.

"I am not sure I feel 25 yet,” Forsythe said.

When February 29th wasn't on the calendar, she still made time to celebrate.

"I had two brothers and three sisters, and if one wanted to go someplace and take me, that was the day I celebrated my birthday, so I got to celebrate more than once every time there was no 29th,” Forsythe said.

She’s not going anywhere yet.

She still plans on attending her church, singing with her choral group, and going to DAR functions.

"I just like living,” Forsythe said. “My aunt lived to be 107, so I am not ready to check out yet. I want to stay here as long as I can."

Who says 100 can't be the new 25?
