A Green Country animal rescue helping thousands of dogs and cats find forever homes over the past 11 years is getting ready for its biggest fundraiser of the year.
Here to talk more about that fundraiser is Paige Bodden and Kellie Morton from Skiatook Paws and Claws, joining Tess Maune on the Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch.

"So we started out super small, you know, pulling one dog and need from our local pound at a time. And now we have spread our reach to most of northeast Oklahoma. We have a spay and neuter clinic to offer public assistance every other Thursday. And we spay/neuter, you know 50 to 60 dogs every time. We have a lot of public outreach. We have a pet food pantry. We have a whole volunteer team who mans events in our boarding facility and our office and just this unbelievable amount of people who have offered their support. And we say touch or are part of you know, about 3,000 animals a years lives doing hopefully positive change for them."
"So Cara has been my foster dog since Thanksgiving week. She was pulled from the town of Chelsea animal shelter. She arrived extremely pregnant. And we actually went to go pick her up and she was already in labor. So because of the shelter environment, we felt it was best to keep her coming our way. There was a lot of stress with that. We had another pregnant mom in our office at the time. (Cara) lost a few of her babies but five ended up surviving. And they're over three months old now. They've all been adopted and so (Cara) is waiting for her home now."
