To kick off the 2024 USL Championship season, FC Tulsa defeated Las Vegas Lights FC 3-1 on Saturday.
Forwards Phillip Goodrum, Stefan Stojanovic and Milo Yosef scored the goals for FC Tulsa, all in the first 56 minutes.
"I am really happy for the guys," said Head Coach Mario Sanchez. "They have been amazing to work with during the last few weeks.
Stojanovic's goal in the 11th minute was his first in the league.
"I've said it once and I'll say it again, 'Life is like a glowstick, sometimes you have to break in order to shine,'" Stojanovic said. "I'm really proud of the boys going on the road and getting our first victory. I can't wait to do it in a couple of weeks."
FC Tulsa is back in Green Country for its second game on April 5th, where Coach Sanchez is prepared to build on Saturday's victory.
"We need to continue to improve and build on our identity. It's a long season and it's important that we keep our focus on who we want to be," Coach Sanchez said.
