Bethany Children’s Health Center has bigger and brighter plans on the horizon. On Thursday, they broke ground on a new state-of-the-art outpatient tower.

The outpatient needs are growing at Bethany Children’s, and it needs more space. Bethany Children’s leaders said the future facility will provide more space for care and room for hope.

“We are living the life we always dreamed for her -- because of this place,” said Kylie Davis, whose daughter receives care at Bethany Children’s.

Children who need a little extra care need space to live and grow. The health center’s new $178 million, 200,000-square-foot Outpatient Tower will soon provide that space.

“It’s just gonna change her whole life completely,” Davis said.

Davis’s daughter Hadley is growing up so fast. “She is about to be five. Oh my gosh that’s crazy,” said Davis, with a laugh.

Days for the Davis family can be hard, but Hadley knows how to fight. “Take it one day at a time,” Davis said. “That’s all that you can do.”

Bethany Children’s Health Center has healthcare professionals who understand the needs of families with children who need extended care. “Compassion and love and hope – and letting me know that my kid’s disability didn’t define her,” Davis said.

Chief of Marketing Richard Mills says there’s room for growth. “We have a lot of families who don’t necessarily need to be at the hospital twenty-four-seven,” Mills said. “These families have a real connection to this place. [The new facility is] gonna be awesome for our families.”

The new building will offer better care for a spirit like Hadley who brightens her mother’s heart. “She does,” Davis said. “She’s the biggest blessing I didn’t know I needed.”

Hope is dug into the fabric of this community where families have a future and kids can just be kids. “It means the world,” Davis said. “It is a day of celebration for sure.”

The tower is a 36-month project. Wells said they worked with architects to develop the design that signifies the next path in a child's journey.
