'It's A Good Group To Be Around': Kevin Wilson On Tulsa Football

Head Coach Kevin Wilson, members of his staff, and select players participated in media days at Chapman Stadium on Thursday afternoon. There was a consistent theme from all, a new vibe.

Wilson and staff mentioned how year 2 at Tulsa just feels different. A full year to implement their system and to be more comfortable in their surroundings.

"It's hard, we had a good group of kids last year, but you have a different language or different way of doing it," said Wilson. "Sometimes you have got to earn their trust and that takes time. We've got a lot of new plays, and not to sound bad, but those are the guys that you recruited, so maybe there is a little bit more of a connection."

Tulsa had an off day on the practice schedule on Thursday. They will be back at practice on Friday for the second day with pads on. The season opener is on Aug 29 against Northwestern St.
