The Golden Hurricane is coming off a 16-15 season in 2023-24. The 11-win improvement was the largest increase since the 1924-25 campaign. Tulsa was a force at home, finishing 14-4 in the Donald W. Reynolds Center. TU averaged 75.0 points per game, the most since the 2001-02 team. After leading the Golden Hurricane to an 11-win improvement in his second season at the helm, Tulsa men's basketball head coach Eric Konkol's contract was extended through the 2029 season.
Tulsa will face Missouri S&T in an exhibition game on Oct. 29, before officially starting Konkol's third season on Nov.4 against Northeastern State at the Reynolds Center.
On Nov. 9, Arkansas-Pine Bluff will visit, followed by the 59th Mayor's Cup matchup against Oral Roberts at the Reynolds Center on Nov. 13.
The Hurricane will then hit the road for the first time, taking on longtime rival Missouri State on Nov. 16, before returning home to play Little Rock on Nov. 20. Last season, both contests were closely contested: Tulsa defeated Missouri State but narrowly lost to Little Rock in overtime.
On Nov. 23, Tulsa will travel to Chicago to take on Loyola Chicago, the co-regular season champions of the Atlantic-10. The Ramblers finished last season with a record of 23-10 (15-3 A-10) and earned a spot in the NIT. This marks the third consecutive year that TU and Loyola Chicago will compete, with Tulsa winning the previous two encounters by a total of 30 points.
During Thanksgiving week, the Hurricane will head to Florida for the Jacksonville Classic, where they will play two games against opponents that will be announced later.
December kicks off with a home game against another in-state rival, Oklahoma State, on Dec. 4.
