There's a zoning question on the ballot in Tulsa Tuesday. It could give neighbors more control over zoning they don't want.

News on 6 reporter Emory Bryan says it's one of those things that is written in legalese on the ballot and hard to understand. The proposition would require a super majority of the council to change zoning on property - if the neighbors don't want the zoning changed. As it stands now, only a simple majority is required to change zoning over the objection of neighbors.

For developers, it would be a tougher burden to get something rezoned, if the people who live nearby don't agree.

The difference between a simple majority and super majority is 2 councilors - so that's two more votes that developers would need to get a controversial zoning approved - otherwise it's automatically rejected.
