(Bokoshe-AP) -- A town of 405 is taking the loss of 21-year-old Marine Corporal Scott Vincent hard.

The school, post office and police station all closed for his funeral Friday in Bokoshe. About 400 people came.

Police Chief Randy Colwell says the town is like a family, which makes the loss harder.

Vincent was killed in a car bombing April 30th in Iraq. He had been acting as a scout for combat units in Fallujah.

Vincent joined the Marines in July 2000, two months after graduating from high school.

Friends remembered him as a kid who loved NASCAR, the outdoors and University of Oklahoma sports. He was nicknamed "Rev" and "Preacher" by his fellow Marines for talking about Jesus with them.

Vincent volunteered for an extra tour of duty in Iraq.

He was buried in Old Bokoshe Cemetery.
