Students at Eisenhower International School are cheering. It was a hard-earned win, but they took home the trophy from this year's Route 66 Marathon. Race organizers challenged kids to participate in the race and Eisenhower's students turned out in force. They had the highest participation of any school in the state.
"They are truly committed to the health and well-being of their students. You can tell by the amount of physical activity they're instilling in their regular school day," said Amber Jaworsky, Route 66 Kids Marathon.
The school earned a $500 check to go along with the trophy. The money will be used by the Physical Education Department.
