MOORE, Oklahoma -- A woman who left her baby in a hot car while she went shopping could face charges, according to the Cleveland County district attorney's office.
Police said the child was found in a car outside a JC Penney store in Moore.
The mother called police and an ambulance when she realized what she had done.
"She said she rolled the windows up, went inside, shopped for approximately an hour. As she was leaving, she heard the baby kind of whimpering, then realized she'd left the baby in the car," said Sgt. Jeremy Lewis of the Moore Police Department.
The child was transported to a hospital with a body temperature of 102 degrees. His condition in not known.
Police questioned and released the woman.
