Pawhuska Student In Custody For Making Threat Against School, Police Say

Pawhuska Police said they are investigating after a student made a threat against the high school. The threat was made by a current student who is in custody, according to Police Chief Rex Wickle.

PPD said they were made aware of the threat at 7:19 a.m. Monday, March 25.

A 14-year-old student made a threat to his parents about something he planned to carry out at the high school, and his parents called police, Wickle told News On 6.

Police said the student repeated the threat to the officer who took him into custody.

Wickle did not release information about the threat other than to say it included great bodily harm. The police chief said they have had dealings with the teen before but never for a school threat.

Pawhuska Superintendent David Cash says in this day and age any threat must be taken seriously. He commended the police department for taken care of the matter so quickly.

Police Chief Rex Wickle said the Department of Juvenile Affairs will decide the next actions with the teenage suspect.
