Police arrested a man after a standoff at a Tulsa convenience store early Tuesday.

The incident happened at a QuikTrip near 31st and Highway 169.

Officers say John Alexander assaulted his wife in the parking lot. They say she then ran inside and Alexander followed her, chasing her around the store.

When police arrived, Alexander locked himself in the women's restroom, telling officers he had a gun.

The half-hour standoff ended when police fired a pepper balls into the restroom and Alexander surrendered.
