A Bartlesville Elementary School is under a “Shelter in Place” Thursday as police are searching for a burglary suspect in the area.
According to Bartlesville police, the owner of a truck spotted his vehicle driving through town and contacted law enforcement. Officers located the vehicle and before a traffic stop could be made the driver of the truck jumped out and ran away on foot near the intersection of Harris Dr. and Bridle Rd.
Two female passengers stayed with the truck and were arrested for being in possession of stolen property. Officers found other items inside the truck which they say came from a residential burglary in Washington County.
Police are still looking for the driver who has been identified as Joshua Ray Pierce. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with khaki brown shorts and black tennis shoes, he is 6”03” 330 lbs. He has Brown eyes and Brown hair.
Ranch Heights Elementary school which is a few blocks from Pierce’s last known position has sheltered in place, locking exterior doors as a precautionary measure.
