A young woman is dead and a young man is in the Muskogee County jail on a first-degree murder complaint after a shooting Friday evening at a Muskogee apartment complex.
He is identified as 18-year-old Mark Thompson. Now, neighbors express concerns about their safety.
Those neighbors say they heard gunshots and a woman scream, but before police could get to the scene to help, it was too late.

At the South Point Apartment complex in the 800 block of South York, bullets flew through the side of a building, even shattering a window just above James White's apartment.
"There's one and the other one is right up here and if you look you can still see the bullet in the hole," said James White.
Neighbors say they heard gunshots and a woman's scream at around 11 p.m. and called 911. When police arrived they found an 18-year-old woman inside the apartment with gunshot wounds. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.
"They cleared the apartment. Attempted to render aid to the victim and called investigators out and they determined the victim was deceased," said Muskogee Police Officer Lincoln Anderson.
White says he heard a loud argument before the gunshots.
"Next thing I knew I hear him screaming and hollering and it sounded like somebody was getting thrown against the wall then it sounded like furniture being broken," said James White.
Debbie Page says when she looked out of her window, she saw a dark colored vehicle speed off.
"What looked like to me a Grand Marquis. It sped off and turned south on that street," said Debbie Page.
Within just a few hours police arrested 18-year-old Mark Thompson in connection to the murder. Police say they found him in Summit, a town just south of Muskogee.
Neighbors say until recently, they never thought anything would go wrong in their quiet community.
"It's just sad, it's just really sad. My heart and prayers are with the family," said Megan Green.
The name of the victim has not been released in what Muskogee Police say is their second homicide of the year.
