Owasso police have arrested a man accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home, threatening her with a knife, and stealing a vehicle.
Police say the victim told them she was at a restaurant in Owasso on Tuesday when she was approached by Brian Werry, whom she said she broke up with a couple of months before, and he would not leave her alone. She told officers that when she tried to run away from him, he caught her and pushed her to the ground, breaking her phone, police say.
The victim said Werry broke into her house later that night through a bedroom window, where he woke her up, flashed a light in her face, put a knife to her throat, and asked for her car keys.
She told police that Werry left through the window after she gave him the keys and he drove off in her parents’ van.
Police say Werry was located Wednesday morning when officers responded to a report of people fighting at another restaurant. They say Werry had the keys to the van and a knife on him and he told police the van was parked at a nearby hotel.
Werry was arrested on multiple complaints, including assault with a deadly weapon and first degree burglary.
