Charges Filed Against Woman Accused Of Killing Nowata Police K-9

Charges have been filed against a woman accused of killing a Nowata police K-9.

Nowata police say an officer stopped Shoshone Dawn Hicks and another person who were walking down Highway 169 last month.

They say, while talking with the officer, Hicks opened a door of the officer’s vehicle and the dog exited onto the highway where it was struck by a semi and killed.

Hicks is facing several charges, including killing a police dog and public intoxication.
