Stephanie Louise Montgomery pleaded guilty Thursday, September 6, 2018, to making a bomb threat against Claremore Public Schools. The crime carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Police said, in March, Montgomery blocked her number, called the high school and made a bomb threat at several schools in the district. She said there were five bombs in backpacks at the high school and ten more bombs located at elementary schools.
The call prompted evacuations at all Claremore Public Schools, and law enforcement spent the rest of the day searching every school in the district.
Claremore Deputy Chief of Police Steve Cox said investigators uncovered the initial blocked call, then used that number to track Montgomery down.
"Our investigators went to the address and they actually just simply knocked on the door and spoke to her on the front porch," said Cox.
"What we do know is probably not satisfying but what she has told our investigators is she woke up angry and she wanted to test the police," said Cox.

As part of a plea agreement, Montgomery will pay restitution of about $12,000 to law enforcement and first responders for costs incurred during the response and investigation.
U.S. Attorney Trent Shores, Northern District of Oklahoma, said people like Montgomery exploit school shooting tragedies and the resulting fear in communities.
"Their threats create undo anxiety in our children and worry among parents. Hoax threats cause the use of significant law enforcement resources. We take every school threat with the utmost seriousness and will respond accordingly," he said.
She is scheduled for sentencing at 10:30 a.m. December 11, 2018.
Montgomery is also charged with three counts of placing bodily fluids on government employees after employees at the Rogers County Jail say she threw urine at them.
