The Sooners are almost a 3-touchdown favorite in their season opener, an 11 a.m. kickoff with Florida Atlantic on Saturday.
Lincoln Riley began his weekly press luncheon doing what coaches always do, complementing the opponent. But he sounded legit, complementing Lane Kiffin's Florida Atlantic bunch, who comes to Norman on Saturday, saying they're easily a top 20, 25 team.
He was also very complimentary of his running-back Rodney Anderson, who was a preseason Heisman candidate. And he puts him on par with superstars Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine.
"I would say based on the way he played last year, second half of the season, the way he's performed in the offseason, his skill set is different in some ways, but he's an elite player, no doubt about it, I think he's teed up to have a great year,” Riley said.
"I don't really feed in too much to the hype that goes on outside of this program. I didn't even know I was on the Heisman list until my mom texted me," Anderson said.
