For many students around Green Country, this is the first weekend of the new school year and there are several activities happening around the area.
The Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks is inviting you to their first ever Food Truck Frenzy on Saturday. The event is from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be a variety of food trucks, as well as live music. There will be several activities available, like a porthole bag toss or giant jenga competition. All exhibits at the Aquarium will also be open. Tickets are $10 per person, but aquarium members get in free.
This is the first weekend of the week-long “Just Between Friends” marketplace sale at the Tulsa Expo Square. Saturday is the pre-sale extravaganza and Sunday is the official opening day. It is the region’s largest child and maternity consignment sales event. Admission is $10 dollars on Sunday, but all the other days are free. The event runs through August 25th.
Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is the 8th annual Owasso FFA Car Show at the Owasso High School. There will be vendors of all kinds, a DJ, a kids zone, and giveaways.
Northstar Church in Bixby is helping kids get geared up for school. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, they are holding a back-to-school bash. There will be fun for the whole family, including inflatables, games, and Josh’s snowcones.
