Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a driver was killed Thursday morning when his SUV crashed on a Rogers County road.
The crash happened on old Highway 88 north of Claremore. The location is just west of Claremore Mound and just south of the Verdigris River.
Trooper Russell Stripling said 58-year-old Rodney Scott Wilson of Claremore was southbound, traveling at a high rate of speed, when the SUV hit the side of a small bridge, went off the road and rolled over.
He says Wilson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the SUV which then landed on top of him.
The OHP says a man feeding his livestock nearby witnessed the crash.
