Mannford Police are looking for a man who led officers on a chase late Tuesday, July 10.

Police Chief Lucky Miller said Joshua Caudill tried to run over one of his officers with a pickup, and the officer fired his weapon seven times at the suspect.

Miller said Caudill had warrants out for his arrest, and when a Mannford officer spotted him at a gas station at the intersection of Highways 48 and 51, he turned on his police lights.

Chief Miller said that started a chase that lasted 17 minutes and ended in a pasture near Highway 48 and West 61st Street where Caudill's pickup got stuck.

The officer and his K9 partner were about 5 feet feet away when Caudill managed to get truck going again, the chief said. The chief said Caudill started driving straight toward the officer who had fallen down by this time. From the ground, Miller said the officer fired seven shots at the truck.

Caudill kept driving and its not clear if any of the bullets hit him.

Police have asked area hospitals to call Mannford Police if a gunshot victim shows up, but so far, Chief Miller said that has not happened.

The chief said at one point the officer's legs were under the truck, but he somehow managed to get them out of the way just in time. The officer and K9 are both going to be OK, the chief said.

Officers have found Caudill's truck - covered in bullet holes. Mannford Police Chief Lucky Miller they located the pickup truck west of Mannford after getting a tip.

Miller says Caudill is still on the run. Police are now processing the truck.
