The Sand Springs Police Department is encouraging residents to take precautions as temperatures start to rise.
They encourage people to check on loved ones and neighbors, and encourage the use of cooling stations.
Below is a list provided by the SSPD that can be used to stay cool if you lack air conditioning:
- Case Community Center 1050 W Wekiwa Rd (Mon – Sat) 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. (Sun) 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Charles Page Library 551 E. 4th Street (Mon, Wed, Fri) 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Tue – Thu) 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Sat) 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Pratt Library 3219 S. 113th W. Ave. (Mon, Wed, Fri) 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Tue – Thu) 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Sat) 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Sand Springs Senior Citizen’s Center 205 N McKinley Ave (Mon-Fri) 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Sand Springs Museum 9 E Broadway St, (Tue- Fri) 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Sat) 11 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
