The witness said she heard shots from her home nearby and came running. That's when she saw a man bleeding from the stomach and called 911.
The video shows the moments just after the man was shot at the QuikTrip at Memorial and Admiral.
Police said a security guard at the convenience store pulled the trigger.
Police said the man was shoplifting in the store Tuesday night when the guard intervened.
"The individual was not happy at all for getting removed from the property, made some threats towards the security officer and then left momentarily before returning with a pipe," said Tulsa Police Sergeant Shane Tuell.
Witnesses told police the man attacked the security guard with the pipe. They said that's when the guard shot him.
QuikTrip spokesman Mike Thornbrough wouldn't comment on this specific incident but said they do hire extra security to patrol some of their properties.
"Unfortunately there are locations where we do have additional security, some of it is 24 hours a day and in addition to that we also have to utilize off-duty police officers," Thornbrough said, adding, "we put safety at the apex of everything that we do not only our employees but our customers."
Right now, police are not releasing the names of the security guard or the man who was shot.
The DA will decide whether or not to file any charges in the case.
