A man is behind bars after Glenpool police said he tried to rob a Tractor Supply store then led them on a high-speed chase early Wednesday morning, April 25. Officers said they spotted Cody Clyde Robnett with a truck and trailer in the store's parking lot around 1 a.m.

Officer James S. McLellan said when he pulled into the parking lot he saw a man with a white cloth covering his face run from the front of the business to a white truck. The man, later identified as Robnett, turned onto 161st Street then headed north on 26th West Avenue at 95 to 100 mph.

The truck was pulling a 16-foot flatbed trailer with a covering over the license plate, McLellan said in an arrest report. Police said Robnett drove through more than one roadblock then ran through two red lights in Sapulpa at around 80 mph.

Robnett jackknifed near Sapulpa and tried to hide in nearby woods, the arrest report states. Sapulpa police K9 Officer Valor tracked Robnett who was treated for a bite wound in his upper thigh.

The arrest report states Robnett had been trying to take lawn mowing equipment from outside the store and left burglary tools, tie down straps and a wooden ramp in the parking lot. A second wooden ramp had blown out of the trailer during the pursuit, police said.

Robnett, 30, was booked on complaints of attempted grand larceny, eluding endangering others, running a roadblock after former conviction of a felony, resisting arrest, malicious injury to property, altering a license plate and possession of a burglary tool after a felony conviction.

He's a Sand Springs resident, according to the Tulsa County Jail website.
