On Thursday, April 12, Allan Trimble, Head Football Coach of the Jenks Trojans, will formally announce his retirement.

The district said Trimble's retirement will take effect June 30, 2018.

"I have been incredibly blessed," Trimble said in a news release. "There is no other place like Jenks, and I am so thankful to my family, my players, my coaches, and our entire community for the support and love they have given to me over all these years. Stepping away from this program is not easy, but I know it is the right time.

Through his career, Trimble has been recognized on a local and national level. He was also inducted into the Oklahoma Coaches Hall of Fame in 2015. In 2017, the district officially re-named the football stadium the Allan Trimble Stadium.

"The legacy Allan Trimble is leaving stretches far beyond the football," said Jenks Superintendent Dr. Stacey Butterfield. "Although his name will always be associated with winning, his most important work was done by positively impacting the lives of his players and setting an incredible example of humility, courage, and perseverance. He has been an inspiration to our entire community, and the number of lives he has touched with his kindness and generosity is simply remarkable."

In 2016, Trimble was diagnosed with ALS – a disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.

A news release says he will spend his retirement focusing on spending time with his wife and daughters. He also plans to put energy into the Trimble Strong Foundation.

I believe Coach Trimble's eternally positive impact in the lives of his players and coaches far outweighs his iconic career that others measured with trophies and W's. Thank you Coach! https://t.co/awcRAh9Yuc
