The state medical examiner is working to identify a woman’s body found in Rogers County.
The discovery comes just weeks after search teams looked in that area for Marlo Wright, who disappeared more than two months ago.
Wright’s family would not go on camera Wednesday, but they say they just want closure and believe they may be one step closer to that.
Rogers County deputies and Claremore police were out about a mile northwest of highway 66 in Catoosa for several hours Wednesday afternoon.
Sergeant Wes Jones from the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office says, “shortly before 1:00 p.m. we were notified by the owner of the business here that he located a deceased body and we responded out here.”
The business owner’s wife says that her husband and his business partner were out inspecting their deer stand. When they climbed up, she says, they saw a flash of color that turned out to be a woman’s body.
“The large area is very difficult to come out and search,” said Jones. “Then, when you talk about the roughness of the terrain, it’s just difficult to cover every bit of ground.”
The sheriff’s office says they are waiting for results from the Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the woman and figure out how she died.
Police believe no foul play was involved.
