Happy Easter weekend, Green Country.
There’s plenty of egg hunts all around the area, but there’s a few places that are taking it to the extreme this weekend.
Spirit Church in Bartlesville is dropping 50,000 Easter eggs from a helicopter Saturday morning. Along with the egg drop, there’s also inflatables, face painting, and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny. The fun starts at 9:30 a.m.
Sunday morning at 10:30, Church That Matters is dropping 20,000 eggs from a helicopter at Clyde Boyd Middle School in Sand Springs. There’s also helicopter rides available for $25.
The Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks is hosting what they call a Turtle Egg hunt on Saturday. Kids get half off admission until noon and the Easter Bunny will be there from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The Tulsa Botanic Garden is inviting you to their Nature Trail Full Moon Hike on Saturday night. From 8:00 – 10:00 p.m., there will be a 1.5 mile night hike. S’mores kits will be available for making s’mores over a campfire. Beer and wine will also be for sale. If you want to join the fun, you’ll need $15 and a flashlight.
You can also meet the author of “Crazy Horse: The Lakota Warrior’s Life and Legacy” and family members of Crazy Horse in Tulsa on Sunday. They will be at Barnes and Noble on 41st Street to sign books and hold a discussion. The event runs from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Broken Arrow Bands is hosting a garage sale fundraiser on Saturday. It started at 8:00 a.m. and runs until 3:00 p.m. at Broken Arrow High School. There’s clothes, furniture, toys, and other garage sale goodies for sale. All proceeds go to Broken Arrow Bands.
