Some Oklahomans are attempting to break a world record in Owasso by running for 24 hours straight.

Camille Herron from OKC tried but fell short at 11 hours.

Wyatt Hock-Meyer is currently in the lead with over 11 hours and 60 straight miles of running.

He said he is running in honor of his son.

“The cause that we support for this race and all the runs that I do is for prescription drug awareness. It's a cause that is dear to our family we lost our son to prescription drug abuse," said Hock-Meyer.

The attempt started Saturday morning at the Owasso High School track and will end Sunday morning at 8 a.m.
