Teachers are gathering at the state capitol in Oklahoma City today for a rally supporting a teacher pay hike.
The teachers are set to meet on the front steps of the capitol and will be wearing red to show what they say is unity for their purpose.
Late Wednesday, the state Senate failed to pass funding for teacher raises. The measure would have been short of the $10,000 raise over three years that the state teacher's union is demanding.

The planned teacher walkout is now just 18 days away.
Speaking of walkouts, the grassroots Facebook group "Oklahoma Teacher Walkout - The Time Is Now" continues to grow, swelling to around 68,000 members - including state Superintendent of Schools Joy Hofmeister.
Teachers are also encouraging the public to contact their legislators.
