Tulsa Police are investigating after a Hispanic man's body was found in the water at 41st and Riverside.
Neighbors said it's concerning because it's hard to know how long it's been there.
The area near 41st and Riverside is generally a quiet area so neighbors said it's alarming to think something like this could happen here.
Ahmed DaVilla brought his sister and her friend to the park and was surprised when all the police cars started rolling in.
“Usually it’s like an unfortunate situation like a homeless person that passed out or like a runner had a heart attack or something. That’s common but for a body, in Riverside, I’ve never seen that before,” Davilla said.
TPD said a passerby called them and said they found a body. But they say the body was submerged so it was hard to tell if it was a man or a woman. Neighbors said the area is popular among homeless people.
There’s usually a lot of homeless folks that sleep there at night,” said DaVilla.
He said it's concerning because this is so abnormal for the area.
“We don’t want that happening around here. We want a peaceful neighborhood,” DaVilla said
TPD said this is still an active investigation so we will continue to update you as we learn more.
