The mother of a 15-year-old who was shot and killed July 4 after a West Tulsa fireworks stand burglary has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the accused shooter, Johnny Mize Jr.
The lawsuit, filed October 2, lists Jacklyn Ulrich and Sharlette Ulrich as the other plaintiff in the lawsuit as 15-year-old Jake Ulrich's guardian and representative of his estate.
Others named in the lawsuit are Johnny Mize Sr., Jack Ulrich, who is the older cousin of Jake Ulrich.
The Ulriches were accused of stealing a $600 pack of fireworks from a fireworks stand, located at 613 S. 65th West Ave., owned by Mize.

The other defendant named in the lawsuit are American Promotional Events, Inc. (TNT Fireworks).
The Ulriches are asking for more than $75,000 for compensatory damages and for more than $75,000 for punitive damages, attorney fees and other costs, according to the lawsuit.
