More Sapulpa Police officers are patrolling the high school and junior high campus after a shooting threat.

About six officers plan to be at the campuses throughout the day in response to the threat that police said was made on social media and involved several students.

In the Snapchat messages, police said the students talk about getting ready for the school shooting, adding that the "preparations are already in place."

In a statement, the district says "Sapulpa Public Schools takes all threats seriously. The safety of our students and staff are our top priority."

The assistant superintendent said he can't legally comment on whether the students were in class Monday.

Sapulpa Police Chief Deputy Pete Sellers said the threat isn't credible, but police are taking it seriously.

"Most of the stuff was unfounded. We did find the source of it. We feel like it's not a credible threat but we are having officers here at the school to make parents feel safe, and the kids feel safe," he said.

The district told parents it will give them updates as the investigation continues.
