The Pentagon says the remains of another missing Vietnam veteran from Oklahoma have been identified.
Air Force Chief Master Sergeant Donald J. Hall died in 1967 when his helicopter went down during a rescue mission.
"Hall was a member of Detachment 5, 38th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron, when he, along with three other service members, were flying an HH-3E helicopter on a rescue and recovery mission over northern Vietnam," a media release states.
Hall's helicopter was hit by enemy ground fire after rescuing a pilot of a downed aircraft. The helicopter then exploded and crashed.
Hall was subsequently reported MIA.
The Oklahoman reports his surviving family will receive his official death notice later this week.
The Pentagon says Hall's name is recorded on the Walls of the Missing at an American Battle Monuments Commission site along with the others who are missing from the Vietnam War.
A rosette will be placed next to his name to indicate he has been accounted for.
