Police: Man Robbed, Shot At Tulsa Apartment Complex

A man is recovering after Tulsa Police said he was robbed then shot by three other men Monday morning.

Police said it happened at the Charleston Heights Apartments near 51st and Yale just after 3:35 a.m.

Officers said two of the three suspects were hanging out in the apartment with the victim and his roommate.

Police said when a third suspect knocked on the door and pulled a gun on the victim, the two suspects inside the apartment told him he was being robbed. Officers said they believe the suspects planned the robbery.

The victim said he ran out of the apartment and down a hallway – that’s when officers said a suspect shot him in the arm.

Police said the roommate was ordered to lie on the ground while the three men looted the apartment before they ran off.

Officers said one of the suspects is known by the street name "Tuffy" and his little brother was the one who shot the victim.

They said he was carrying a high-caliber rifle, with strict regulations under the National Firearms Act, and they believe the gun was stolen. If he's a caught, police said he could be in jail for a long time.

"It's a minimum of 10 years for possession, not usage, just possession of an NFA item," said Tulsa Police Officer Adam Ashely.

EMSA took the victim to the hospital where he was taken into surgery to treat this wounds. Officers said the roommate was not hurt.

The victim believes the shooter’s mother lives in the complex and may know where her son is.

No arrests have been made.
