Unidentified Man Dies In Crash Near Okemah, OHP Says

An unidentified man died in a crash in Okfuskee County Thursday.

The man, whose identity is under investigation, was struck by a 2010 GMC Acadia driven by Renee McKee, who was not injured, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred shortly after 5 a.m. on State Highway 56, about three miles west of Okemah in Okfuskee County, the OHP reported.

McKee was driving eastbound on the highway and saw something in the roadway, the OHP reported. She swerved to avoid it, but unable to, she ran it over.

When she turned around and returned to the scene, she realized the man had been hit, the OHP reported.

Troopers cited the cause of the collision as pedestrian action.
