Man Arrested For Punching Tulsa Police Officers

A man was arrested Thursday night after police say he punched multiple officers.

Tulsa Police said around 7:30 p.m., gang unit officers stopped a man committing a bicycle violation in the 5800 block of South Peoria.

The man was identified as Toyce Mason; officers found he had three misdemeanor warrants and tried to take him into custody.

Police said Mason pulled away and punched one of the officers in the mouth then ran away.

Officers chased after Mason and trapped him. They said he fought with officers again.

They said the officers tried to Tase Mason but it had not effect.

Police said he was finally taken into custody after he punched another officer.

Mason was booked into jail on two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, possession with intent to distribute, resisting arrest and more.

One officer was taken to the hospital for stitches.
