A video making the rounds on Facebook appears to show the athletic director of a Muskogee County school district texting and driving a school bus.
The district is investigating.
The short video appears to show Braggs coach and Athletic Director Alicia Zodrow looking at something in her lap while driving a school bus.
Mashell Hall has three kids in Braggs and hadn't seen the video online. She said Coach “Z” is well-liked by students and parents, but said, after watching the video, if the coach was texting, she’d want her to be held accountable.
"If she was, then take the proper action, yeah," Hall said.
Randy Pofahl lives just down the street from the school and used to be a bus driver himself.
“You've got a lot of lives depending on the seat you're sitting in," he said.
Braggs superintendent Michael Broyles sent us a statement about the incident saying:
"We were recently made aware of a video circulating online that showed one of our coaches allegedly texting while transporting students on a district school bus.
The safety of our students is of the utmost importance, therefore I am deeply disappointed by the allegations of the driver's disregard for exercising proper precautions while students were in her care.
As a result, we have suspended the coach from bus driving duties without pay pending a full investigation into the matter."
Those we spoke to in the small town said they like the quick action by the district.
Pofahl said, “It's better to air on the side of caution."
Right now, the superintendent said he doesn't know when or where it happened, or if students were even on the bus.
He said when he does find out he will take appropriate action.
