Collinsville School leaders and students are remembering a teenager killed in a car crash near Vera Thursday morning.

Eighteen-year-old Nikki Winton's friends have been posting about her on Facebook and it appears that she planned to graduate from Collinsville High School in just a few weeks.

The school's principal says administrators met Friday to talk about how to honor her memory.

Grief counselors will come in next week to help students through the tragedy.  The principal says other districts are also offering to bring in their counselors for support.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Winton ran off Vera Road, hit a tree and landed in a creek yesterday morning.

A passing driver called police but she died at the scene.

Troopers say she was going too fast and was not wearing a seat belt just before the fatal crash.
